TROUBLESHOOTING
- A browser starting from Internet Explorer 5.0 or Opera 5.0
- JavaScript support in the browser and FlashPlayer
- Port 5191 has to be opened
- Cookies support enabled
Possible causes:
- Your network is out of firewall range and your port 5190 is disabled (ask your system administrator about this problem)
- Your Internet service provider uses equipment that alters (modifies) data bursts.
If you operate a Windows operating system click Start and select Run: option. In the text field there type "telnet towerchat.co.uk 5190" (without the quotes) and press Enter. The Telnet window will open. Now press Enter key twice. If port 5190 is open you will see a phrase "Hello, TowerChat user!" Close Telnet window.
In Internet Explorer click Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level > Cookies and select Enable for both positions under the Cookies title.
